About:Chinese Consulate in San Francisco

Visa request outside of your consular district

Hello,

I am seeking to get it from San Francisco, but my passport address is from Missouri, i don't live there, my parents do, I normally live in France.
Can I apply in person at the San Francisco Consulate General?
Or as I don't reside in San Francisco either (only visiting friends) would it be better I applied for it from Hong Kong as I will be there 10 days before my planned entry into China.
Thank you for all help
Stephanie

I am afraid you can not apply in San Francisco in this case. So to apply in HK is an option for you.
