About:China Visa on Arrival

medical emergency, anyone can help?

My son is seriously ill in Shenzhen. If I fly to Hong Kong with a valid British passport and a letter from his doctor explaining his situation, will I be able to get a VOA for Shenzhen, and can it be extended beyond 5 days if necessary?

You will definitely get a VOA at Lo Wu border point of Shenzhen. To get a longer visa, I suggest you stop over at Hong Kong and get the 30 day China visa from the China Foreign Ministry office in Hong Kong. If you apply in the morning, you will get the visa the next day afternoon. I wish your son a quick recovery.
