You should go to the Chinese consulate in your area to renew your passport. The required documents are:
1. filled application form for passport, travel document or home return certificate of PRC.
2. 2 passport photos with background and you should provide them in elctronic edition.
3. old passport (both original and a copy)
4. original and a copy of legal status in Canada, resident permit for study, for example.
5. written application including details about your background.
