Are pets allowed on ferry to Shenzhen?

We're bringing our pet to Shenzhen via HK International airport and then taking the ferry to Shenzhen. Are we allowed to bring our pet dog on the ferry?

Usually, your pet will be transported directly from the HKIA with your check-in luggage.

But it is still suggested to consult it with your airline company directly.
