Australian citizen applying for chinese visa in Bangkok

Hi there!
I am an Australian citizen currently in Bangkok and have flights booked to China in June.
Because I am not a Thai citizen and am only on an automatic tourist type (30 days) am I able to apply for it here?
I have obtained a chinese L in Thailand before, issued in Bangkok on 2012, valid for 1 entry max. 30 days.
But I have heard there is a change of rules and that some countries now require you to be a citizen of the country you apply for it in.
Please let me know if I can apply in Bangkok even though I am an Australian citizen.
Thanks!

Hi, it is still possible for you to apply tourist L in Bangkok. So just submit your application as well as your Thai visa.

Thanks Bill!
Do you know if it is also possible to get your double entry tourist L?
Cheers!

It is possible if you have travel itinerary or documents showing your need of double entry to China.
