how to get my daughter out of the grey zone exit/entry troubles

Hi,
We are a mixed couple with a daughter 6 years old. She holds Danish passport, but is born in China. We never gave up her Chinese nationality officially (did not think we needed to). Is she still Chinese in the eyes of PRC, or did she automatically loose this when we gave her a Danish passport?.
How can we give her a Q1 type? Do we have to leave China, and go to the Chinese embassy abroad, or can we switch over easily in China? We need a visa stamp in her passport, as the Chinese school system have no idea about grey-zone kids like our daughter. Either she is Chinese, or she is foreign foreign s must have visa stamp in their passports. we cant enroll her in the school we had in mind until we solve this issue. Help is much appreciated.

It's true that she loses her Chinese nationality when she acquires Danish passport. As for the Q type issue, I think you may visit the local entry and management bureau and see if she can apply without leaving. To my knowledge, she might be required to apply outside of China. The required documents for Q1 type are: her passport, filled application form together with a passport photo, invitation letter from you or your wife (I don't know whether you or her mom is a Chinese. It should be given by the one who is a Chinese), a copy of Chinese ID card and her birth certificate.

Thanks Stanley, much appreciated. It seems like we have to go abroad to apply. Im Danish, so it will have to be in Denmark we apply as far as we know now.
