Chinese tourist Visa for a French

Dir Sir or Madam,
A friend of mine will come to visit me in Shenzhen in July for a week. He is French and is currently living and working in Melbourne, Australia. What are the procedures for him to obtain a Chinese L type? Can he do it from Australia or does he need to contact the French Ambassy in France?

Regards,

Manon

He can apply directly from the CVASC branch in Melbourne. Apart from his passport, application form, a passport photo, confirmed return air ticket and hotel reservation, he should provide his employment resident permit.
