What's the currency should I hold when travelling in China

Dear Friends, I and my wife will entry china on Mey 25, 2014. For the currency issue, please inform us about the money we should hold during spending the days there. Should we hold only RMB? Or US$? Or cards (debit and credit cards) are prefered there? - for an information: we don't have any account on China's Banks.

This money issue is realy important to us, please help us. Thx :))) And for data connection in China, should we buy china's sim card or we can use roaming service from our local sim card (from our country)?

Thank you

When you are in China, you'd better carry RMB with you together with your credit/debit cards. You can pay with your credit card in many places. However, cash is needed in some places like restaurants, scenic spots etc. Personally, I don't suggest you carry too much RMB. It's risky. When you spend your cash, you can withdraw from the ATMs or banks with your debit cards.

It's ok that you use roaming service provided by the telecom operators in your country. However, many foreigners prefer to use Chinese sim cards when they are in China. It's cheaper.
