About:Shangri-La Weather

shangri la during first week of October National Holiday

Hi- I was wondering how busy the town gets during the October holiday (the first week)? I may have to take bus from Shangrila to Lijang during that week. Would it be very difficult to get seats? Is there a way to book the bus ticket in advance? I also am thinking of flying - would that be a better option?

It may be the local busiest time in a year. It is the longest holiday for Chinese working people, so many people will choose to go traveling in that time. So the ancient town will be very crowded then.

It will be difficult to get a seat on the bus. You can go to the bus station to get one or ask the hotel you stay in Shangri-la to helo you to get one. Or you can even buy one through the local tour agency. There is no flight between Lijiang and Shangri., so you may need to use the bus only.
