Transport to Putoushan

-the fastest way is to take a coach from Shanghai South Railway station to Putuo(Zhoushan), and then take a bus or taxi to Banshengdong Ferry terminal to take a ferry to Putuoshan. it takes about 5 hours. or take the bus from Nanpu Bridge to Luchaogang to catcht the speed boat to Putuoshan, it also takes about 5 hours.
- the speed boat is safe. and it is an enjoyable trip. you can buy the bus + speed boat ticket at Nanpu Bridge.
- take a bus to Zhoushan first, and then transfer to the ferry terminal to catch a ferry to Putuoshan.
- you can leave your luggage at the left luggage near the entrance.
- the last daytime ferry back to Zhujiajian leaves Putuoshan at 17:30 the last night ferry leaves at 22:10. they leave every 15 minutes.

Hi Jim, Thanks! Do you have the exact address where the fast boat is leaving and what time on a saturday? You have mentioned we can buy the tickets for the boat at Nanpu bridge....I mean where exactly. I cross Nanpu bridge veryu often - no idea where there is a ticket office to be honest.

the fast boat leaves from Luchaogang port at 13:30 everyday. you have to get to the Nanpu Bridge before 08:00 to catch the bus to Luchaogang Port. you buy the ticket at the Nanpu Bridge Tourists Transportation Hub, which is just under the bridge, next to the terminal bus stop of No. 64, or the Exit 1 of Nanpu Bridge of subway line 4. as there is only one fast boat to Putuoshan each day, the ticket will be in large demand at weekends, so i suggest that you buy the tickets a few days in advance.
