Embassy & Consulates of Canada in China

Hi,

I am planning to get married in GuangZhou, China this upcoming September and have only 20 days to get all the papers and other things done. Can somebody please advise if 20 days is enough and the following steps are correct?

1 - I am Canadian Citizen by Birth, do I need to authenticated my birth certificate? if so, where should i do this?
2 - With my birth certificate, I will have my passport (not authenticated) and Single Status Certificate authenticated and bring all 3 documents to China . These will be presented to a marriage registration office in GuangZhou. Does anyone know how long will it take for issuance of the marriage certificate?
3- with the marriage certificate, I will have it translated in English and authenticated by Canadian Consular located in China. Does anyone know how long will this take too?

and after the above, is there other documents that i will need to get for ?
Please advise if I miss anything... and correct me if I am wrong!!

Your help advises are greatly greatly appreciated!!!

Many Thanks!

Birth certificate is not required, but you should also prepare Chinese translation of single status certificate. The registration is easy if you meet all requirements, the you will get your marriage certificate on site within a few minutes.
Anyway, marriage registration procedures are administered by the marriage registration office of the local civil affairs bureau (Minzhengju) in each jurisdiction. So you'd better ask your partner to visit her local office for specific information.
