Fisherman's boat booking

In this site it says "It is better to get to Yangdi by bus at first and get on a fisherman's boat, then go boating to Xingping. It only cost about CNY80." Is it possible to book this fisherman's boat in advance and if so, how and where to do it? Is it safe (what kind of boat is it)? We'll be 2 persons coming in late June.

Hi, the fisherman's boats are actually simple bamboo rafts, but they are safe enough. The boatmen all have great experience and skills. Don't worry! There are many waiting on the bank, so no need and it is impossible to book in advance. However, as I know, the price has increased a little by now.

Thank you for your reply! We're actually the most worried about the safety of our backbags haha. Another question is that we read from somewhere that these local bamboo boats are in some way illegal (not sure if that info is outdated?) and that's why we should go early in the morning. So for this reason we were planning to stay one night in Yangdi and take the boat the next morning. Is the wharf far away from the center of Yangdi?

Ah, referring to the above message, not the wharf but the place where the bamboo boats are leaving to Xingping. Is that far away from Yangdi center?

I do not know the exact distance, but I can tell you that it is not very far and you can walk to reach easily.
