The topography of China is high in the west and low in the east. The mountainous region, plateau and hills covers 67% of the whole territary and basin and plains covers 33%. And Qinling Mountain is the boundary of south and north China.
Due to the latitude, there is very different climate in south and north China. In the north, they have distinct four seasons a year and in winter, there is snowfall. In the south, it is generally warm throughout a year. Therefore, there is large temperature gap between the two parts!
