Hi.I'm very confused. I'm am going to teach English at a highschool for a year. The Chinese bureau says I have to get either a F or M, but some say it is illegal for me to teach in a F.Thanks in advance!

Yes, it is illegal to work on an F business type. You have to apply for work Z directly with work permit and official invitation letter for employment.
