It is much easier to fly to GZ from HKIA if you land at HKIA.
Taking a train is better choice, which is much cheaper and you can even enjoy the wonderful scenery along the rail lines.
In my opinion, you can try the Guangdong-Kowloon Train to reach GZ.0
