possible to get new multi entry visa while in china?

Question

I have a 2 yr multiple entry L (tourist) that will expire in Jun, but I want to stay in china for another 3-4 mths to visit relatives. I am currently in china, is it possible to get a new L (apply for another 2 yr multiple entry tourist L while I am in China? Or i have to go back to united states for the application?thanks!

It is very hard to get a new multiple entry L without leaving due to new law from September 2013. Your 2 year L was issued before that date, right? But you can have a try to visit local PSB for this. I think a double entry is enough if you just want to stay for another 3-4 months.
