Is there a direct bus from Pingyao to Xian? how long, how much?

I'm afriad not. To travel by bus, you can advised to go to Taiyuan first and then there is direct long-ditance bus service from Taiyuan to Xian, which takes around 8h.1

Besides bus, you can also take train to travel. The direct train from PY to Xian takes 9h or a little longer. As for the timetable, you can search in the train page at this website.1

Now the high speed train between PY Ancient Town and Xian North has been put into use. It only takes around 3h.0
