Travel to China in August

I am going to Beijing and Xian in the beginning of August. I heard that it will be crowded as it is a school break and the attraction sites will be crowded. Is it true? Has anyone traveled during that time? And how was your experience? I hope it's better than the National Holiday. Thanks :)

I did, but the situation is not that terrible. You can generally freely enjoy yourself at the attractions. As it is generally vry hot in most places of China, not crazy crowds in the two cities as your plan!

I also had an experience in China during the National Day Holiday. Gee, it's too bad. It seemed that all Chinese people are traveling and you can see nothing but people in a place of interest.

Considering all, it is generally fine to travel in Aug. Take it easy!
