About:Marriage Registration in China

Can I change my X to Q1 visa in China or I can only get Q2 while In China ?

Hello I hold an X issued in kunming for the last year (expires on july 2014)
In case I have to leave china to go back to my country (Morocco) to apply for it, can I apply for a Q1 in Morocco for a longer duration stay ?

What do I need to apply for the Q1 in my home country and the Q2 in China ?

Hi, Q1 is issued to those who are family members of Chinese citizens or of foreigners with Chinese permanent residence and intend to go to China for family reunion. So I am not sure if you are eligible for this.

Thank you for the reply. Can I then get the Q2 while I am in PRC? and change my X type to Q2 type?

So my wife called the PSB, they said its possible to get it while in China but it's not easy because you need to prove you have enough money to support without taking a job.
Anyway I plan to come back to my hometown pretty soon but I will try first in here see how it goes.

Hi

I've done this already, any city will require:


After converting a Q visa into a Resident permit (RP) you will get:

For a 1 year RP Chinese wife/Husband must have in their account: Y60,000
For a 2 year RP Chinese wife/Husband must have in their account: Y120,000
For a 3 year RP Chinese wife/Husband must have in their account: Y150,000
For a 4~5 year RP Chinese wife/Husband must have in their account: Y200,000

Some Tips:

1. If your Chinese wife/Husband has a full time job with a printed salary bank history this will help.

2. If your Chinese wife/Husband has or owns a house in her name, bring the housing contract, this will allow the money requirement to go down.

3. You the foreigner Husband/wife should dress respectfully, no Adidas, no shorts, no Nike or that kind of stuff. You should dress like a business man.

4. You should try to speak Chinese, this will make the officer feel good and respected by you, remember that the officer in-front of you is the one who will give the amount of years that you can stay with your family in China, so you better study hard. I did..
