Qinghai, Lhasa and Qinghai-Tibet Train

Hi, I plan to go to QH/Lhasa in end May or mid Jun. Stay is for about 9 days to take the QH-Tibet train, go Q and Lhasa. May I know if a permit is needed to go into Tibet and if so how long we need to wait? Also, any good hotel recommendations? And places of interest?
Thanks

To get into Tibet, you need to show your visa and Tibet Entry Permit! You can get a permit from a Chinese travel agency and it should be done 15-20 days before your leaving! Also it is forbidden tot travel alone in Tobet/Lhasa, you must join a tour!

Anyway, as for the accommodation, the Lhasa Hotel at No. 1, Minzu Road and Lhasa Ping Cuo Kang Sang Youth Hostel may be good choices! You cannot miss the Potala Palace, Tibet Museum and other monasteries like Sera Monastery, Drepung Monastery and Ganden Monastery!

Seeing that you have to join a tour to vist that area, I suggest you turn to a travel agency for help for hotel and air ticket booking.
