About:Visa Policy of China

Do I need to apply for any visas or permits in advance?

I have a USA passport. I will be flying from Seoul to Hong Kong and staying in Hong Kong for 3 days. Then I am flying to Chengdu for 1 day. Then I am flying to Honolulu (USA) via a 3 hour stopover in Beijing. Thank you
