Light bulbs in hotel rooms

Last time in China, light bulbs were very dim, making reading difficult. I understand the need to conserve electricity, BUT I am willing to bring my own bulb, for my personal reading. Any idea what sort of bulb bottoms would fit hotel lamps? Would a 60 watt bulb cause a blackout?

Thanks,
Gail

Gail, I don't think it's a good idea to bring light bulbs because you don't know the hotel uses srew or bayonet bottom. If you read often, you may buy a table lamp when you arrive. It's very cheap here.
