VOA for France passport?

Hello. I need to fly to Beijing for a business meeting urgently. The above article says, "The Rules on Visa Issued at Entry Ports are not applicable to the nationals of United States and France." The practical meaning of this is not 100% clear to me. Is it possible for a France citizen to get VOA?

Hi, you need to apply for visa in advance.

Thank you, but in this case I need to go immediately and do not have time to get it in advance. Just not possible. I read online that it is possible to get a 72-hour "in transit" one on arrival. Does anyone know more about this?

Yes, you can avail 72 hour free transit for your stay in Beijing unless you fly from France to a third country via Beijing. For example, fly France via Beijing to Tokyo, then you can stay in Beijing freely for 3 days.
