suitcase or 50/60L rucksack?

Myself and my husband will be travelling for 3 weeks. Staying in each place 2/3 nights. We will be using mainly public transport. But should we take a suitcase each or a rucksack each? Please help this is an ongoing debate in our house. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Erin, it's more convenient to bring a rucksack during your trips. If it is a large suitcase, you need to deposit everywhere you go. If you bring a rucksack, you needn't deposit it because you can put it on your shoulder. Just my opinion.

What do you mean by deposit? As when we are sight seeing our luggage will be in out hotel. ☺

Sorry, I thought you might bring your suitcase when visiting some attractions. That's why I said you needed to deposit it somewhere. If you take many things with you, then you may bring a large suitcase. It has larger room space than rucksack. For myself, I always bring a rucksack if I don't bring too many things. It's convenient. I needn't waste too much strength when I get down or get up stairs, haha. The suitcase looks a bit clumsy to me.
