What kind of is needed. Do I need visa if I am not leaving the airport?

I plan my trip to and from Vladivostok transiting Beijing. 15 July I plan flight Doha-Beijing-Vladivostok and on the way back on 20 July Vladivostok-Harbin-Beijing-Doha.

How much time will you spend at Beijing airport and Harbin airports? Are you a Russian? If you are a Russian, you can enjoy 72 hours free transit in Beijing when you fly from Doha to Vladivostok. However, you just need to apply for a stay permit when you transit in Harbin if you totally transit in Harbin and Beijing for less than 24 hours. Otherwise, you need to apply for a G type in advance.

Thank you for your answer. I hold passport of Croatia. I will be at Beijing airport on 15th July from 1400 until 0625 on 16th July and on return from 2200 hours on 20th July until 0200 on 21st July. I will be in Harbin from 1700 - 2000 on 20th July.

Stay permit is free of charge, and you can just get it at the airport after arrival showing your passport and flight ticket.
