Travel in Shangrila

Hi, it is best to rent a car to visit the monasteries there. Strictly, no tour guide is needed for your trip, but it is best to have a Chinese person to accompany you!

Thanks for replying Tom, yes i will definately rent a car to travel around in that place. One last question if you could help me with, how easy is it for me to get a car to drive me from Lijiang Airport to Shangrila? As i will be going to that place straight right after i reach Lijiang airport.

I heard it is not that easy to get a car to carry u directly to Shrila at the airport. Then I suggest you take the shuttle bus to Lijiang city and then rent a car and the rental fare shall be CNY500-700 for your reference. To ensure a smooth trip, you'd better reserve a car or minivan in advance!

I am not clear about an exact car rental service in the city. But you can turn to a local travel agency for help!
