About:Badaling Great Wall

Badaling or Mutianyu?

If I could choose only one of them, which should I go for? Based on my research so far, Badaling is near to Ming Tomb and Juyongguan pass, so I was wondering if there are any other attraction spots near mutianyu? Btw, how far is Ming Tomb and Juyongguan pass?

If you plan to visit Ming Tomb, then you can choose Badaling. I do not suggest Juyong Pass. It's restored by modern people. You can't view the original appearance of the Great Wall. After you visit Badaling section, you can take No.919 (Badaling to Deshengmen) bus and get off at Changpingxiguan. There you can take No.314 bus to Ming Tomb. There are two kinds of No.919 bus (Badaling to Deshengmen) at the Houshan Parking Lot. One is non-stop bus (Badaling to Deshengmen). You should take the other one that stops at Changpingxiguan.

Hi Belinda! thanks for the suggestion! any idea how long does it take to travel from badaling to Ming Tomb? I searched the net and it says about 4.5-5 hours, that's quite far because I hope to spend a few hours at the Great Wall. And the tomb closes quite early around 5. :/

It won't take 4.5 to 5 hours from Badaling to Ming Tomb. You spend around 30 minutes on No. 919 before you reach Changpingxiguan. Then it takes around 20 minutes from Changpingxiguan to Dingling (Dingling Tomb). You can climb the wall and get down by the cable car. It saves some time this way.
