Great wall of China: Badaling-Juyongguan pass- Mutianyu

HI! I'm going to Beijing in mid-April. Is it possible to visit these 3 places within a day? Would it be too tiring? And how far apart are they? Are they connected such that I could travel in the sequence of Badaling-Juyongguan pass- Mutianyu? What distance would I be covering? Because I am concerned that only active and fit people could walk that far. Otherwise, any alternatives? Such as taking cable car from a point to another? Could you please recommend? THANKS A LOT in advance!! :)

Well, I don't think Juyong pass is worth a visit. It's restored and loses its original appearance. If you visit Badaling, you may consider visiting Ming Tombs. These two attractions are not far from each other. In order to save time, you can climb the wall and get down by cable car. When you get off the cable car, you can walk into the parking lot to take No.919 bus and then get off at Changpingxiguan. Then you can take No.314 bus to Ming Tomb.

Personally, I think Mutianyu is more interesting than Badaling because of its orginal appearance. And you can visit these two sites in one day because they are far from each other.

Thank you so much for the quick reply, Mike! Much appreciated! :)

That was a really good advice, would skip Juyong pass then. However, Mutianyu is further to travel to, as I am coming from southern side of Beijing. By public transport, it takes me 4hours to get to Badaling whereas Mutianyu would be a 6hr journey. However, I personally prefer mutianyu based on the reviews seen earlier on! Esp when reviews mentioned how mutianyu is more scenic and beautiful.

Anyway, I googled and found out that by public transport, it takes about 4hours to travel from badaling to the ming dynasty tomb. By the time I travel from my hotel to Badaling earliest it would be about 11am already and if I were to spend 2 hours there and head to the tomb at 1pm, I would reach around 5pm. And the tomb closes at 530pm. That would be quite a rush, wouldn't it? And that's assuming I follow to the timeline closely and traffic is smooth as expected. Or does the journey from badaling takes less than 4 hours?

If you plan to visit these two sites in a day, you need to get up very early. You should go to Deshengmen to take No.877 or No.919 (Deshengmen to Badaling) to reach Badaling. It takes about 60 to 70 minutes. Please be noted that there are several kinds of No.919 bus. The one you take is from Deshengmen to Badaling.

You don't need 4 to 5 hours from Badaling to Ming Tombs. According to what I know, it takes around 30 minutes from Badaling to Changpingxiguan if you take No.919 bus. And then you need about 20 minutes to reach the Dingling Tomb if you take No.314 bus.
