why the change the name yellow river to mother river?

Because the Yellow River Region is the cradle of Chinese civilization. Chinese people's ancestors lived in this region because of the mild climate and fertile soil. Here they created brilliant Chinese culture and brought up Chinese people. That's why it's called mother river.
