About:Chinese Currency & Money Exchange

Specific years on US bills? Should I carry only "new" money?? Any specific denominations?

in 2012 my hotel refused to exchange one of my $100 bills because of the date (age) of issue.

I don't think so. If the hotel refuses to exchange you USD, then you can visit the banks and exchange your dollars there.
