About:Hong Kong Airport Express Travel Pass

Which buses and can I buy the 3 days pass and then get on a bus from the HK Airport?

I have read this on the MTR website regarding the 3 day pass:
"Travel only becomes effective on the Light Rail and MTR Bus (Northwest New Territories) after the first journey has been made on the MTR"

1. Can I use the buses on HK island with the card?
2. Can I get on a bus from the airport using the card or would I have to pay for all journeys until I use MTR?
3. Will the card work on buses to Tian Tan Buddah

Thanks

The airport express can be used as Octopus card to use it on the buses, but you need to charge it besides the money you buy the card.

You can use this card to board on a bus from the airport, but extra money should be had on this card beside the card's fee. Once you recharge the card, it can be used on the buses to Tian Tan Buddha.

As I know, if you want to use the airport express card on the bus, you still need to charge it some money after you buy this card at the service center. In my opinion, if you do not use the mtr frequent, a ordinary Octopus card is much more better.
