About:China Customs Declaration

If I buy a brand new Ipad for my self , do I need to declare and pay tax when enter China?

If you declare it, you will be required to pay 20 percent tax. I think you can bring it without its box when you pass the customs. If the staff askes, you tell him it's for personal use. Then you won't be taxed.
