Hi, I am a Namibian citizen studying in Russia and I want to travel to PRC to visit my fellow Namibian  friend who is studying in china.

You should apply for a L type from Chinese embassy or consulate in Russia. You should offer your passport, completed application form, a recent passport photo, round-trip air tickets and hotel booking in the place you visit. And your legal resident permit in Russia is required too.
