Simatai open end of May?

Will the Simatai Section still be closed in May? If it is not open, is it worth traveling there from Beijing? (I understand it is a 3 hours drive). Thank you!

As far as I know, the Simatai Great Wall has been reopened, but some of the sections are forbidden to be visited.

I just walked Jingshanling today. I am an experienced hiker, but had all I could handle on this trail alone, without worrying about Simatai. The peasants at the 1st Simatai watchtower said there were only the first 4 Simatai watchtowers open, but someone at the Jingshanling visitor center at the bottom had told us that a different province controlled most of Simitai, and she said she didn't know if we could pay a different entrance fee to that provincial govt to gain entrance, or if it was closed due to disrepair. Of course she must have known more, but that's all she would say.
