How to change M Visa to F type?

I was able to get an M type however what I really needed is an F so I should not always be leaving China every 30 days. Is there a way to change my M type to F type?

Sorry, you can't change M for F in PRC, according to what I know. If you want a F, then you should leave PRC and apply for a F.

Hi Katherine does it means that I have to finish the 6 months M visa and then re apply for an F Visa. Thanks

Nope, you needn't stay until it expires. You can leave now and apply for the F type.

Hi Katherine So I don't need to finish the 6 months. Will I not be question by the Embassy why I need another one when my existing one has not expired. Thanks

Actually, F and M are all for business visit. If you were issued a 6 month one but 30 days each entry, you can just leave and reenter China. I can not understand why you need an F type? just for longer duration of stay each time? if yes, no one here can assure you about the result even if you exit and apply for a new F. So, in my opinion, you can just leave for HK or Macao then reenter to start another 30 days.

Hi Adrian, Yes that's exactly the point to be able to stay longer and no need to exit after 30 days. I would be traveling most of the time and I have to squeeze in the exit after 30 days which is a little inconvenient. Anyway I guess I have really opted to exit every 28 days and return but was just looking for another way if M Visa can be made to F. Thanks
