chinese friend inviting me to china. does invitation letter need certify by chinese authorities?

Dear sir/madam
I am holding Sri Lankan passport, Chinese friend inviting me to china for a short visit. he is providing me his Chinese ID n invitation Letter I will be staying with him. Invitation Letter typed and signed by him. wanted to know does the invitation Letter need to certify by Chinese authorities or not. If the letter need to certify please help me which authority and details please also what are documents need to attached for visa submission.
