About:FAQ of Chinese Visa Application

In and out of China

I am currently working in China and have a working Z valid until 25th. December 2014. I am waiting for my work permit but need to travel abroad for a short time and come back to Beijing. Can immigration authorities deny me entry if it is valid but haven't got my work permit with me? usually work permits are not requested, only the Z which in this case is valid.

Hi, work Z visa is issued with only a single entry, you can not reenter if you are now leaving without residence permit. As I remember, the processing takes 15 working days. So you can advised to wait for it then use it to exit and reenter China.

Thank you Cliff. I forgot to tell you that it was issued while I was already in China with another type, so I have never used the current one for either entering or leaving China. I have a residence permit but the work permit should be on its way any time soon.

Then it is ok to leave and reenter with your valid residence permit.
