Additional materials for L visa

Do I have to provide this information? Round-trip air ticket booking record and proof of a hotel reservation or a letter of invitation.
I will be travelling on a bike and sleeping in a tent. No planes, not many hotels, definetly nothing booked ahead.

Can I get a invitation through a travelagency and provide that insted of hotel, plane information?
