Luxury Soft Sleeper

I will travel from Shanghai to Wenzhou with my family.
I've been told that each compartment has 2 beds (upper & lower).
Can my family be in the same compartment or the ticket is still random?
FYI, I will travel with my wife, 3yrs old boy & 1 yr old daughter.
