Visiting Kumning from 15th april till 22 april 2014.

Since you have about seven days, it is suggested to spend about one day to Dianchi and Western Hill among KM attractions. Then you can use one day to have a look at the Stone Forest.
Then you can head for Dali. Then travel around in Dali town in day time. Then take a train from DL to Lijiang. You need to spend about one day in Lijiang ancient town. One day to Jade Dragon Mountain. Then a day to Shuhe Ancient Town and the Baisha Village.
After that, you can head for Shangri-la via Tiger Leap Gorge, which you will use about two days.
Then you can go back to Lijiang to take the trains or buses back to KM.

Thank you Mr. Amir..great help from u but do I have to book the bus n train tickets.btw any suggestions on the hotels in Dali, Li jiang& shanghai? ? Tq amir..u must have a lot of experience travelling in KM.congrats

It is no need to and have no ways to book the bus tickets, so you need to go there to buy. But take it easy, because the bus tickets can be easily booked.
For the train tickets, it is suggested to book so that you can have the suitable seats as you planned.
For hotels, Moonshine Inn in Dali, Sunshine Lijiang Inn in Lijiang and Barley Guest House are suggested. These are all hostels, so they will be cheap and comfortable.

I think you know that the last place is Shangri, so I suggest the Barley Guest House. This hostel is just in Shangri-la.

Dear amir..my apologise I asked the above question but seem to be reply.possibke to give the estimated travel time to Dali, from Dali to liking n sangria. I need to be prepared.btw is it safe to go to kumning since the 1st march incidence.btw do I have to book the hotel for Accommodation In Dali Lin Jiang n Sangria Before Arrival. Tq

Generally speaking, the train takes about 7 hours from KM to DL and the buses take about 4.5 to 5 hours.
From DL to LJ by train costs about two hours. From LJ to Jade Dragon Snow Mountain costs about half an hour. From LJ to Shuhe Town costs about ten minutes. From LJ to Shangri-la, the bus takes about 4 hours.

For the hostels, it is suggested to book online in advance. It is not sure that you can still get a room when you arrive there.

Currently, it is safe in Kunming and everything is in normal, so take it easy to travel.
