About:China Travel Tips

Which is the best way n faster from Lanzhou to Danxia Zhangye, by bus or train or rent a car how many hours ?

We r 9 people n cant speak Chinese n dont have guide travel wid us. What other tourist attraction at Danxia beside Rainbow Landform ? If I only have 2 days its enough 2 c around Danxia landform or I ned more days ? Ive seen from net there is a valley full of yellow flower at Danxia website....what name of d valley n how far from Danxia city ??? Thanx U very much in advance...

Well, I think you can take train from Lanzhou to Zhangye. It take almost the same time from Lanzhou to Zhangye no matter you take train or bus. But train is a better option, in my opinion. When you reach Zhangye railway station, then you'd better hire a local driver and his car for your visit to Danxia Landscape. I guess you need two cars. A car and a driver costs CNY 180 to 250 perday. There are some small guest inns outside of the scenic area. You might stay there during your two or three days visit. The conditions of the guest inns are acceptable. Just a few rooms are equipped with toilets and showers. If you can't get one of the rooms, then you need to take a shower or ease yourself at the public toilets.

Danxia scenic area has several spots inside. It's said that the first and the fourth are the most beautiful. You should pay much attention when you visit these two spots. By the way, you needn't buy another ticket if you plan to enter the scenic area next day. All you need to do is to register at the ticket booth after 18:00. Next morning, you can enter before 08:00. However, you should buy the tickets for the sight-seeing buses inside.

It is generally easy to check in a hotel at Zhangye upon arrival. Don't worry! And you are advised to hire a tour guide to visit Danxia or at least have a local driver to guide you. Although you won't get lost by DIY travel, tour with a guide will make your travel much more worthy and interesting sometimes!

Thanx U very much Dick. I just open dis site n found Ur answer....I didnt get notification dat my question has been answered. I tried 2 search hotel at Zhangye or Danxia by net but I cudnt find. Is it Okk I just came n order guest inn same day we arrived ???? Im afraid all d room fully booked. Do I need guide when visited Danxia or we will get lost if not ??? Thanx again 4 d answer....
