About:China Visa Application Procedure and Fee

applications from overseas (HK)

i'm in HK right now, and can't get a new Chinese visa here as I accidentally overstayed a few days on my last one. they said i can process it back in my home country, however it would be expensive to fly back and forth.

Can i mail my passport back to my dad in Melbourne who can apply for it on my behalf? There's a statement he can sign at the bottom of the form saying 'i declare i've assisted in the completion of this form at the request of the applicant...'

Would it be better to send a postal application directly to CVASC? this takes a while to process

Hi, it is ok to send application to your father, then ask him to apply by post or in person from CVASC. If you are now in HK, then your passport will have a landing slip to HK without entry/exit stamp, right? that will be good if yes, the officers will not find out the fact that you are not physically in Melbourne for application.

Yes I'm in HK. I might just call to check, but thanks for your answer.

At the CVASC centre in Melbourne, will they mind that I accidentally overstayed a few days? Surely this must happen often. I can include copies of the receipt for the small fine I payed, and the visa extension they granted me afterwards.

Hi CVASC is only responsible to collect and return applications. The Chinese embassy/consulate officers have the final say to the issuance of applications. I think it is ok for you to get a new one as you overstayed accidentally for a few days only.
