Can I bring vegemite into PRC?

I want to take just 1 small pack of biscuits and vegemite which is already packaged for my girlfriend to try, I'm currently in Australia and want to go to China but the flight ticket is via Hong Kong and then China.

Well, it was banned to bring vegemite into PRC in 2008. I don't know if you can bring it now. But you can give it a try and bring it. If it is not allowed to enter PRC, then let the customs have it.
