About:China Visa Renewal and Extension

30 days-Tourist visa to get married in China

Hi, I am applying for a L type to get married with a Chinese national next month, however the embassy said they will give me 30 days only. I asked if I can apply for a new one before it expires and they said yes. But, officers don't know what the requirements are and how to proceed with it. Also, if I will apply for a new one after the wedding, will I be able to stay longer (like 6 months or 1 year)? If anyone here knows, please tell me how to proceed with it and what are the requirements. Thank you!

Hi, an extension is possible, but you may only get one more month extension. In your situation, you are advised to exit and apply for a new one in your home country, for family visit Q1 or Q2 this time providing your marriage certificate and a copy of your spouse's Chinese ID and invitation letter. BTW, I heard that a bank account of your spouse is required as supporting document.

Hello Oliver! Thank you so much for your answer! It's a great help, indeed! I will apply for Q1 type by April, I guess the requirements are easier to accomplish than the L.
