About:China Green Card (Permanent Residence Permit)

I am 74 and will marry a Chinese lady so can I get permanent residency

I should say you have very little chance of getting it. After you getting married with our Chinese wife, you should file application for pemanent residency for family reunion. It requires that you must stay in PRC for more than 9 months every year. Five years later, you can file applicaion. However, China limits the number of people who are granted with permanent resident permits. It's said that just around 200 people can successfully get it every year.

No, the Chinese government wont give you permanent residence status. You may likely have a hard time just getting a regular long-term visa.
