PEK is Iata code for Beijing airport. If it had been placed on a flight, would that be listed as a step in the tracking process? Will arrival at an US Airport be listed separately as a step in t he process? It is difficult to imagine that an airmail package could not be placed on an outgoing flite to the US in 5 days.
