About:Chinese Embassy in Malaysia

Malaysian residing in Hong Kong wish to visit China

I was told that she must apply from her homeland in Kuching. This invovle extra cost of travelling from Hong Kong to Kuching and to go back to Hong Kong and just simply want to make a visit not too far from there. Is this possible ?
