UK passport holder looking for China business visa

Hope you can help.
I am a UK passport holder on business in CPH this week. I need to travel there for business next week. Can I do this from CPH this week?
The second complication is that I am self employed, working for a UK client who has an office in Shanghai. They will provide a letter of invitation for me.
Is it possible?
