Extension of 60-day tourist (L) visa in Shanghai

Dear Sir, Madam,
I am currently on a 60 day L type that runs out at the end of February 2014. I am currently staying in Shanghai and was wondering if it is possible for me to extend it without having to leave China. I was wondering if you can tell me what I need for the application and how many days in advance I can apply. Thank you so muchin advance.

Yes, you can extend your L type at the Entry and Exit Management Bureau in Shanghai. You should apply for the extension at least seven working days before your current expires. You should prepare for those documents: your passport and valid visa (original version), Registration Form Of Temporary Residence, 2 color photos (45X35 mm). And you might be asked to provide a bank account which at least has 21000 RMB.
