About:Kunming Travel

best and fastest way to travel from kunming to lijiang then lijiang to shangrila in march

we are planning 10D, start from KM 2Days, then to Lijiang (4Days?) last to Shangrila ( 3days) and back to KM to catch plane home. do we have to book the bus/train tix in advance? how should we go abt doing it? should we spend more days in lijiang or shangrila? how long is the journey from shangrila back to KM?

From KM to Lijiang, it is suggested to take a overnight train, so that you can reach LJ on the next morning and start your traveling with full energy. There are four train, K9618/K9619, K9610/K9611, K9606/K9607 and L9646/L9647 and among them, the K9610/K9611 is the best one, I think.
If you choose to take the train, it is highly recommended to book the train tickets. The train tickets can be booked on this website.
The other method to reach Lijiang, you can take the buses from local west bus station, but the bus tickets is not necessary to book in advance.

It is suggested to spend more time in Lijiang.
From Shangri-la to KM, if you take the bus, it takes about 9 hours if the bus does not stop for a rest, otherwise, it may takes about 12 hours.
